I got groceries at Sunflower Market today, and their grapefruit is on sale 8 for $1.00!! What a deal! I got four, and the one I ate today was absolutely delightful, especially on a day that feels like summer!

The Sandia Mountains! I drove to Target the other night, and this is what I saw when I got out of my car! Sandia means Watermelon in Spanish because they're beautifully pink at sunset! Purple Cacti! I saw these pretty creatures by the side of the road, and I could not pass them by! What a beauty! I had no idea God created cacti like this! This was the greatest find!! Jalene and I were looking around the UNM bookstore, and I found this perfect journal! Clint and Leigh Ann did their mission trip in Indonesia last summer, and Leigh Ann loves tea and tea shops. Well, this journal is made of Indonesian Batic Fabric and has teacups all over it!! It was such a joy to give it to her, and the expression on her face was priceless!! Kristen, a girl in my Bible study, had a birthday party, and this was the fabulous cake Lauren made for her! It was so beautiful on the outside, and the inside was a total surprise! A beautiful day! I had to post 3 photos from this day because they all go together - I went on a great run, then sat in the sun at a park for a couple hours! I loved the sidewalk chalk at the park...made me feel like summer! The one of me portrays the feeling of the day! Miss Andriea! We had our Friday Night Bites at our house on Friday, and we had a blast! I'll post more photos on my blog for you! This is Andriea, who sat down, stuck her foot up in the air and said, "You gotta take my picture!" If you can't tell from this small picture...the little face on her big toe is just like the look on her face! Silly girl! Jalene needed to take photos for her class, so she used my camera to get some great images! Her assignment was to get shots of repeating patterns: I took a scrumptuously beautiful drive today on my day off! I went up to the foothills where there are developments of huge adobe-style mansions! I panicked a little at one point, feeling I was lost in all the curvey roads...yikes! But it sure is hard to get lost when there are mountains nearby - I always know which way I should be heading! This is a photo of a bunch of homes tucked in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. So, I forgot to take a picture today, and could not come up with anything creative, so here is a fun one of me! I LOVE this lens, it has a 1.8 f-stop, so the depth of field is so shallow! Notice how my eye is in focus, but my nose/side of face is not! |
365 days of Photos!
This is a unique type of blog. I read somewhere about the idea of taking a photo a day - a photo of something I did, someone I saw, food I ate, places I went, ect., and I thought it would be a neat way to document this year as I continue in another semester of EDGE Corps, and go on a mission trip this summer! I hope you enjoy the journey! Archives
