Kim got a house-sitting job for a couple in Albuquerque, and since it was beautiful mansion, I joined her for a couple nights! I am amazed that anyone lives this extravagantly! The outside photo below shows their pool, and their barn, which is much larger than most homes!!

Last Friday, we had our April Friday Night Bites at our house. These Friday night dinners have become quite the event! We had somewhere between 30-40 students, and we had a southern theme this month. We served pulled BBQ pork and chicken, salad, corn bread, and many different desserts. I wish you could experience what dinner is like in such a full house!! After the dinner, we had a talent show, organized by a couple students. It was a hit! I was surprised by how many students shared a talent with us, some being silly and funny, and others being true musical talents! It was a very successful evening! Oh, and the 2nd picture shows the diversity of our group: worship outside...while Turbo Jam Inside (at 11:30pm, nonetheless!!) The Cogans, who own the house that we live in, live 2 houses down from us...and they have chickens!! It is Kim and I's pleasure (right Kim?!) to take care of all their little critters when they go away on vacation. This time was Kim's turn, and it was quite the experience because Kim really really doesn't like things that fly or flap or for some animals, even come in her direction! And there are a lot of chickens...and a ferocious bunny! :o) Here's a few photos from her adventure - we had many yummy eggs, and their little kitty is so cute! As I waited in the cell phone waiting area at the airport, anxiously awaiting the call from my parents to say they landed in Albuquerque, I saw these beautiful flowers (yea, they were weeds!), so I picked them and had fresh flowers for mom! It's incredible how long these little beauties have lasted! I had the delight of going wedding dress shopping today with Jalene and her mom, grandma, aunt, and niece!! She is going to be the most beautiful bride ever! Here are 2 collages I created today, and will get printed to give Jalene for her Bday (shhhh! Don't tell!), which is tomorrow, the 24th. Dinner! As you may know, I have been on a gluten-free diet for quite a while now. During my senior year at NWC, a nutritionist recommended I cut out gluten, to see if it was the culprit of various symptoms I was experiencing. Sure enough, I felt much better after I had cut it out of my diet. In this past month I have been slowly adding different foods with gluten into my diet, and I've had no problem so far! Tonight I bought some bread and made a DELICIOUS sandwhich: Chichen, cheese, tomato, cilantro, spinach, and mustard! YuM! A group of us went to Manitou Springs during a couple hours of free time. Here's a photo of us ladies! Kim, Me, Seihee, Alyssa, and Alex. Happy Saint Patrick's Day! I think we should celebrate this day more often...the sea of green shirts was so great! |
365 days of Photos!
This is a unique type of blog. I read somewhere about the idea of taking a photo a day - a photo of something I did, someone I saw, food I ate, places I went, ect., and I thought it would be a neat way to document this year as I continue in another semester of EDGE Corps, and go on a mission trip this summer! I hope you enjoy the journey! Archives
